Tell us some things to get to know you better.

I retired as an optometrist on October 31, 2024 after 43 years of practice. My parents decided to be a part of the new congregation at West Side around sixty-five years ago. Five generations of my family have attended West Side.

What ministries do you participate in?

I am an elder, and I also teach 4th grade on Sunday mornings during the Fall and Winter quarters. I also participate in the Seniors Ministry, the Tuesday Morning Men's Prayer group, and help with the Security Team.

How do you relax?

I enjoy sports, working in the yard, hunting, and spending time with family.

What’s a scripture that has had an impact on your life?

Joshua 1 says, “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” That has become sort of a theme verse for me as Kathy and I have navigated this past year.

What is an act of kindness someone has done for you?

All of the cards, words of encouragement, and other ways so many people have helped us over the last year during my cancer treatment journey.
