What would you like us to know about you?

I have worked full-time with Gibbs Bottled Gas since August of 2005 when I came to town. I did mainly plant work while I was in school, then began driving in 2009. I sideline with a little mowing business that I have grown since about 2012. As a deacon, my ministry is Monday Night For the Master (MNFTM). I also help with Transportation and the Safety Team. When the MNFTM program came to West Side, it became a staple for a college kid getting to know the area. After a meal, some friends and I would grab some school-age kids and go visit members and sometimes the community at large.

What’s a skill you are learning right now?

Beginning in February, I've endeavored to learn Morse code at a proficiency level that I could chase Amateur Radio Awards. My first contact was a station in Hawaii at 20wpm. This is a skill that does not come overnight, and I wouldn't call myself proficient yet, but making progress.

Do you have hobbies that help you relax or unwind?

I’ve done some computer programming-related projects. I've recently built (or programmed) a router for my home network, a home server, and things like that. Some amateur radio-related projects: I've built an antenna to use, and I’m working on a more complex antenna and some other ideas.

Who is an inspirational person in your life?

My mother. When I was growing up, if the church doors were open, you could find us there. When much of the country was concerned with Covid, my mother (then retired) made it her mission to grocery shop, bake goods for those who needed it, and I think she wasn't scared to visit too!

What’s something you’re thankful for right now?

I'm thankful for my family! My immediate family is great, much greater due to the acceptance of and the cohesiveness of my wife's extended family with my extended family. If I had to choose a wife based solely on her family, I couldn't have done any better. It makes for a great relationship.
