God Is So Good!
God is so good. Have you ever tried to think about just how good God is? (Note I say tried, I don't believe we can actually comprehend his complete goodness) I know when we think of God's goodness Christ and the redemption he offers is the pinnacle and what we correctly first think of but the area of his goodness I often find myself thinking about is the detail He added to his creation.
We know that God is all knowing, all powerful, the maker and sustainer but have you ever thought about what that means for creation? With his infinite power and ability to sustain everything he could have placed us in a world that was very simply made. Even if He had decided to use the same basic "elements" of the world as we understand it (land, water, air, etc.) he could have just created one large flat plane with a big puddle in the middle and covered it in grass to make the air we breathe. But He didn't. He made a universe so incredibly complex that we will never fully understand how it works. Every time we think we figure something out about it we are either later proven wrong or go on to discover that there is more complexity beyond that complexity.
Not only did He make this universe complex He made it breathtakingly beautiful in so many distinct ways.
- Looking out over a forested river, enchanting.
- Out in a field where you can see for miles, picturesque.
- Deep underground in a cavern, magnificent.
- High on a mountain top, majestic.
- At the edge of the ocean, spectacular.
Even parts of the universe that men of the past would have never dreamed about being able to see, God still put unbelievable beauty there.
- Looking down from a plane, gorgeous
- Out the window of a satellite orbiting earth, unbelievable
- From the surface of the moon, breathtaking
- From beyond the moon, awe inspiring. (If you haven’t seen the images from Artemis II do yourself a favor)
Just think God didn’t have to do any of that. But he did because of his goodness. And then he went beyond even that and he prepared a place for us with him that doesn’t even compare to what we have already seen of His workmanship.
God is so good!
