Dan Summers
What brought you to West Side and how long have you been here?
Nathan was our primary motivator, since he was our preacher in Conway, but the friendliness and supportive atmosphere here was also a big consideration.
Share some things about your life and work.
I received my BBA from Harding (class of '81) and an MBA from UALR. I was a Vice President at St. Vincent, then spent over 18 years with CARTI as Chief Financial Officer/ Treasurer. I taught for 12 years in Harding's College of Business, where I worked with such luminaries as Jim Shelton. I'm currently helping my sister and her husband with their business.
What’s a new skill you’ve learned recently?
How to delegate yard work to Elijah Mobley :) I can also unclog an A/C condensate line and replace a capacitor!
Do you have any hobbies, or a way you like to relax and unwind?
I enjoy reading, target shooting, riding my ATV in the national forest, and doing parkour.
What’s an act of kindness you’ve received from someone at West Side?
A member who has experienced the same health condition I have offered to share his experiences. He has also made a point of keeping up with my situation. Before hearing from him, I had only spoken to him just in passing.
