What To Expect

When visiting us for the first time, you can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We have main entrances on both the north and south sides of the building. Here are some general aspects you might encounter during your visit:

  1. Friendly Greetings: Upon entering the building, you will likely be greeted by our church members who will make you feel welcome. We will provide you with a bulletin for the service and offer assistance if needed.

  2. Worship Service: Our worship service consists of singing hymns or contemporary worship songs in an a cappella style, prayers, scripture readings, and a sermon focused on Christ’s Gospel delivered by our minister.

  3. Dress Code: We have a relaxed dress code. While some attendees may choose to wear formal attire, many others dress casually. It's best to wear what makes you comfortable.

  4. Bible-Centered Teaching: We emphasize the importance of the Bible as the primary source of authority. Expect the sermons and teachings to be based on biblical principles, with an emphasis on personal faith, salvation, and Christian living.

  5. Communion and Offering: We observe communion (also known as the Lord's Supper or Eucharist) every week during our worship. This involves partaking of bread and grape juice as we encounter Jesus' body and blood. Additionally, there may be an opportunity to give offerings to support the church's ministry, but this is voluntary and visitors are not expected to give.

  6. Sunday School or Bible Classes: West Side Church of Christ offers Bible Classes for all ages after the main worship service. These groups provide opportunities for fellowship, Bible study, and building relationships with other church members.

  7. Childcare and Youth Programs: If you have children, we have programs to cater to their needs. We offer nursery services for infants and toddlers, as well as Bible Classes for older children and teenagers.

If you have any specific questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us beforehand or ask a church member during your visit. Enjoy your time at West Side Church of Christ!
